The best way to pair wine and food
I heard the best explanation EVER on how to successfully pair wine with food on the Create channel recently. When pairing food and wine, we use either complementary or contrasting flavors. When using complementary flavors, a white wine would be paired with fish or chicken because both are lighter in texture and flavor. They're complementary. Beef and other red meats, which are bolder and heavier, would go with red wine as red wine is bolder and heavier. When pairing wine and food using contrasting flavors, the focus is on the sauce or seasoning of the dish. Pairing using contrasting flavors can be more challenging, more rewarding and more fun! I think I'm going to cook something special tonight – something with a sauce!

I have everything I need right now!
On the Dr. Oz show recently, Anthony Robbins offered an amazing and easy tip for de-stressing and giving yourself a positive attitude each and every day. Every morning when you wake, move for five minutes. Jog in place. Dance. March. Flail your arms. The important thing is to keep moving. As you move, repeat the following words out loud over and over again for all of the five minutes: “I have everything I need right now.” Not only does it get your metabolism moving and your blood flowing, but the words connect you with thankfulness. As Mr. Robbins says, it's important to live in thankfulness. He says, it's important to do the physical movement and the speech at the same time because doing both together significantly improves the power behind the exercise. It's easy. It's fun. It's invigorating. And you should start seeing positive changes in your life in no time!
Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
Walking your dog is good for your health
Wise words from Ella Fitzgerald
Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong.

It's all about love
"Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it." - Dr. Karl Menninger
- Eleanor Roosevelt
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." "You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

Saturated fats should be avoided by arthritis sufferers.
Saturated fats cause inflation. So, for those who suffer from arthritis pain, they should be avoided or at least consumed at a minimum.
Saturated Fats are fats found in animal products. Some of the worst offenders are fatty meats like beef, lamb, poultry skin, pork, bacon, salami, bologna, beef sausage and pepperoni. Also dairy products like ice cream, whole or 2 percent milk, butter, and cheese should be avoided.
Choose, instead, reduced fat or fat-free dairy products and lean cuts of meat, skinless chicken and turkey. For packaged foods, check the saturated fat content on the Nutrition Facts. It's recommended that Meal items should have less than five grams per serving. Snack foods should have less than two grams.

Live in Thankfulness.
Live fearlessly. Live boldly. Live with love in your soul. Treat each person you meet like the treasure they are. Appreciate each day for the amazing miracle it is. - Colleen McKeon
De-stress at work in five minutes or less
Breathing deeply for just five minutes a day reduces stress and you can do it right at the office! Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Bend your knees at a 90 degree angle. Sit tall with your head directly over the base of your spine and your palms face up on your thighs.
Now, close your eyes. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth as you pull your stomach in. Count to four as you inhale in and count to four as you exhale out. Feel your face, neck and shoulders relax. Release all the tension there. Feel the tension leaving your body. Repeat slowly for five minutes. Do this ever day and it will not only decrease your stress, it will energize you and make you more productive, as well!
